[KCTV5.com]  10/27/2009, Smithville, MO -- "A 7-year-old Smithville girl reported than a man attempted to abduct her in her back yard Tuesday night."

"Around 5:30 p.m., the 7-year-old's sister said the girl was walking her dog in the family's back yard on Bridge Street."

"Thegirl's sister said the family's back-yard runs into the river and the7-year-old was by the river when she looked up and saw a man walking toward her. The sister said the girl had never seen the man before. The man was motioning for her to come toward him and when she didn't, hekept walking toward her and told her to come to him, according to the sister."

"The 7-year-old eventually ran inside and told her sister, who said she called 911."

"The girl was not hurt. Police said they hope to have more to release Wednesday. They said they are still looking for the man."
