"The assault happened at an apartment located at 313 Benjamin Street. The mother was critically injured and taken to Carolinas Medical Center."
"According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the suspect is Maurice Jermaine Harris. "
"Police say Harris took the woman's two daughters with him as he fled the apartment. An AMBER Alert has been issued."
